XL Films hosts RED Day Event

XL Films recently hosted RED Day at the XL Studios in Richmond, Texas. The free, 2-day workshop was designed to educate industry pro’s about the new RED ONE 4K digital cinema camera and it’s post-production workflow.

The hands-on technical workshop was designed to bring Directors, DP’s, Producers, Camera Assistants and Editors up to speed on the camera’s capabilities.

XL Films' Director/DP, Scott Jones and Digital Artist, Bruce Ingram were the presenters. During the morning sessions, the curriculum walked through a detailed tour of the RED’s menu structure and it’s operation. Everyone had a lot of great questions.

Nearly 30 people attended the training workshops; the first of it’s kind in the Houston area.

The second half of RED Day focused on the post-production workflow. Those present learned what your options are in post when dealing with the R3D files. From the on-set DIT workstation, to the editing, color and finishing pipelines, attendees learned how very important it is that you think through your workflow prior to arriving in post.

The presentations have been posted on this site under the RED SQUARE page.
XL Films already has plans to take XL RED Day on the road to other venues in Houston soon.
